The Equator Ventless Clothes Processor EZ2500C seemed like an answer to my prayers. It is a washer and dryer in one unit. It did not require a plumber to fit a new water inlet and drain, because it hooks up to the kitchen faucet and drain. It runs on regular 110V electricity, so it did not require an electrician to install a 220V outlet. And it is small, just perfect for a compact space.
This water-saving machine does get clothes very clean, very gently. But its ventless design prevents it from truly drying the clothes. The dryer works by condensing the water and draining it, but it can never get clothes as dry as a conventional dryer. Polar fleece garments work the best; they come out nearly dry. Next best are light cotton garments. Jeans, however, emerge quite damp, even after the dryer runs its full 2-hour cycle.
Both the wash and dry cycles are long. The machine is difficult, if not impossible, to keep level, which causes it to shake considerably during the high-spin cycle. The capacity of the machine is quite small. This is not the washer/dryer for a family!
However, it does work for particular situations. If you are living in a small space, the one-piece design is a real asset. If your space makes it impossible to vent a dryer outdoors, this ventless machine may work for you.
I recommend this machine with substantial caution. If you need a washer/dryer and absolutely do not have the option for a more conventional washer/dryer, this may be the solution for you.
