ihatehousework's Full Review: Eureka 5892AVZ Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum
I have purchased many vacuums over the years spending as much as (embarrassed to say) $700. We are pet owners and currently have 3 dogs and 2 cats indoors. This can really wreak havoc on a vacuum. I have been buying vacuums about every 2-3 years as none can outlast this time frame, no matter what the cost. I just purchased this Eureka, because out of all the vacuums I have ever purchased an old Eureka Boss is the only vacuum that has survived enough to become the basement vac.
I just vac'd with my old vac and then steam cleaned with my Bissell ProHeat (which I love) and then I vacuumed today and you would be amazed at the dirt that was in the cup! I could not believe it. So I went and vacuumed everything again. The suction on this machine is great, in fact tremendous. The only thing bad about that is the hose does collapse when you use the tools, shortening your reach for most areas. The tools are great as they stay on the machine...no more searching for the lost crevice tool on this one. That has been one of my biggest peeves is the lost crevice tool on all my old machines. The duster to me is not a big deal, but my daughter loves to use it.
The motor seems to be quieter than any other vacuum I have owned and since 2 of my dogs hate the vacuum we tested it with them. Neither dog was affected by this vacuum and did not respond to it at all, which is far different than their response to any of my other vacuums.
I hope this one lasts for a long time but even if I do have to replace it in 2-3 years it will be with another Eureka. The machine does not tip over, does not cost an arm and a leg and it cleans well.
I will never overspend on a vac again. thanks Eureka
