cgstaub's Full Review: Eureka 5892AVZ Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum
This vacuum is a horrible machine. We bought ours in Dec 2006, and at first, we were really impressed with how much dirt it picked up (that our old vacuum didn't). We noticed it was oddly noisy, but just figured that was the way it was. Less than a year later, part of the vacuum caught fire and melted a hole in the handle. Scary! We had it repaired since it was still under warranty. It worked better after repair than it did when it was new. For a couple of months, that is. A couple of months later, the on/off switch broke. Then, two days ago, the roller broke, and now it won't turn on at all. The attachments are practically useless, by the way. The Power Paw never worked, and broke the second time I tried to use it. The duster is a joke, it just spreads the dirt around. For $120 we got a few good runs with this thing, and I really did like the sealed HEPA filter system; but, the hassle has been way more trouble than its worth! I would never recommend this vacuum to anyone, and won't be buying another Eureka vacuum. What a piece of junk!
