| Mom2TyZick's Full Review: Euro-Pro EP600 Bagless Stick Cyclonic Vacuum |
When we moved into our last home, the majority of the floors were hard wood. Beautiful, yes, but I had no idea how to keep them clean daily other than sweeping. The Swiffer just wasn't cutting it. I needed something that would let me zip through the house and still do a great job. I went to Target and found the Euro-Pro EP600 Bagless Stick Cyclonic Vacuum.
Truly this is one of the best purchases I've made at Target, and I shop there all of the time. I paid $40 for it and I have never regretted it for a moment. This lightweight vacuum is so powerful, that there will not be a speck of dirt on your floors when you go over them with the Euro-Pro just once!
If you need to use it on furniture, it will convert to a hand vacuum with the click of a button. This will take the "stick" handle off and you can just push it around lightly with the plastic handle that is built onto the body of the vacuum. It makes it a touch lighter and certainly more easy to maneuver.
How does it work so wonderfully? The cyclonic action in the bagless portion keeps dirt and grime away from the HEPA filter, increasing its cleaning and suction powers. You can actually see the debris spinning like a mini cyclone in the body of the vacuum! You can actually see dirt and debris getting sucked from the floor into the vacuum from inches away!
This vacuum only has one drawback, and it is very minor compared to other large vacuums. It seems a touch loud for as light as it is, but if that translates into suction power, who am I to complain? One improvement I'd make if I were the designer is to have a retractable cord, because it is easy to get tripped up on it, as with any vacuum. This vacuum does have a little plastic notch on the handle to keep the cord out of your way the best it can.
Cleaning up this little contraption is a breeze, as well. You simply twist the canister and dump the dirt and debris right into the trashcan. It goes back in as simply as it came out. Mine gets dirt collected on the side of the canister, so I've washed it with hot soapy water and it comes clean just fine. You may need to get replacement HEPA filters and that is a chore. I suggest you get them online, as I've never been able to find them at any store, even the Target that I bought the vacuum from in the first place.
The perfect use for this little vacuum is hardwood flooring, as it sucks the dirt right out of the cracks. It also works marvelously on ceramic tile and linoleum. Where my little vacuum doesn't cut the mustard is when I tried to use it on my carpeted areas. It can handle something very very low, but any other normal carpet length is just not going to work. You will have to lug out your big heavy duty vacuum if you want a clean carpet.
Tools of the Trade
Believe it or not, this vacuum did come with a few extras. It has a hose attached to get into spaced between cushions or other tight spots, and has a few other tools to attach for similar work. I must confess to never having used said tools and stick to pretty much getting just my hardwoods clean.
In all, this is an amazing little vacuum that will do the job for all of your non-carpet areas.
