Steam generators are a handy thing to have around the house. You can clean your grill, sanitize toys, tools, workspaces, pet areas, and your car as well as clean all types of surfaces. The EuroPro Model SC618Steam Bottle Model SC618 claims to perform all these tasks.

With a 1 cup capacity, the Model SC618 looks a bit like an old fashioned oil can with a pump trigger that releases steam at your intended task. In concept, it is a great idea but the reality is far different. The steam released is barely enough to clean a 4 square inch area at a time and that's being generous!

The attached pump trigger is tedious to use as you have to constantly push on it to generate what steam is there to work with. You hear the whooshing of steam, you see the steam come out of the spout and yet the area affected is so small you quickly wonder why you are performing such an act of overkill to clean so small an area?

Like the Steam Mop, the EuroPro Model SC618 is a miserable failure of a product, you wonder how it ever made it out of R&D! Like the Steam mop, I like the 13 foot power cord as it has the potential of moving around a lot of areas you could conceivably clean, just not with this appliance.

The folks at EuroPro like 1 cup capacities as they have used it on the Model SC618as well, and yes included the ridiculously small fill hole and flimsy stopper maintaining their consistently bad judgment.

While trying it out today, I took it to my kitchen and tried cleaning a corner of our tiled floor. I have to say it did loosen the dirt but took far greater effort than I needed for this simple task. I then went to the bathroom and tried it on grout to no avail. I really didn't loosen any grime. Task after task, it took far too much time to achieve marginal results; not acceptable!


Final Thoughts
The EuroPro Model SC618 Steam Bottle Model SC618 is a waste of time and money! Clean a grill, no not in a million years! It went back to Sam's!

Shark has since rebadged this product under the Europro name which perhaps is why they are bundling it at the wholesale clubs. They offer a squeegee and two brushes which take useless to a whole other level!
