Cons: None. No I mean NONE. Good Bourbon!
The Bottom Line: At $22 why not? This fine spirit will give you an idea of what bourbon is about.Why do real men drink bourbon. This is why. Taste it!

| black85l98's Full Review: Evan Williams Single Barrel Bourbon |
Check out my other Bourbon reviews.
First I want to say this review was going to be for Very Old Barton 86 proof. But no topic was to be found. I had two bottles to review the VOB and a bottle (much prized) of 1993 Evan Williams 93. So I will post this here and hope the diligent and intelligent will find it and take notice.
If you are in a hurry to buy a bottle of fine bourbon then go now! * * * * * yes five stars. Go. Run. This is good Bourbon at any price. Yes, 1993 is the year. In fairness to the others 93 is the only year I have tried. I am looking for a bottle of 91 if you know where I can find one.
Presentation
The bottle has a short neck and a medium base with a SMALL dimple in the bottom. It is clear and has a painted signature on the front. The front of the bottle also has a pasted label that states the vintage and proof. The back label has the barrel #, date bottled, and the date this fine bourbon was put in the bottle. This bourbon is not as dark in the bottle as I would have expected. It is bottled at 86.6 proof. This is my only question as to the quality, how did they know my barrel was 86.6 proof? I thought single barrel bourbon proof changed a little from barrel to barrel.
Your bottle will come in a nice reverse corrugated cardboard box.
Nose
As is my custom, I poured my first glass of the evening into a short Brandy sniffer. The first whiff carries no medicine smell and a bouquet of other scents. There is no reason to let it air, take deep, deep, I said DEEP breathes right from the bottle, you will pick sweet fruit scents, very little oak and more. I would say the nose is superior!
Flavor
Neat;
warm on the tongue, warmer but nice at 86. I cannot taste any charcoal but there is a hint of oak, and more, it is too warm to tell, it is not offensive. In fact it is very smooth. It is hot on the tongue but the heat is good and does not destroy the flavor, this is GOOD Bourbon. This Bourbon will teach you a few things as you enjoy it.
On ice;
I poured my EWSB 93 over about 1 of crushed ice in an old fashioned glass. I let the Bourbon get to know the ice for a while. Put the bottle away. NOW! you must practice self control.
Mixed with cola:
Wow. Mixed 50/50 you can tell it is there. 75/25 you have a very nice drink. Get a good book or the paper and just kick back relax and let the flavors roll in. What a joy!
Final notes
EWSB 1993 is a fine representative of the art of making Bourbon.
