Well, what can I say. This is the latest pro workhorse from Nikon. I started this line with an F3, then an F4 and now this. I bought it when it came out.
It exceeded my expectations.
First of all its built like a Nikon F series camera. Actually, tougher than the F4. It has a solid steel (aluminum?) frame. It is a little weighty but I like the heavy feel. Maybe a professional would get tired of the weight?
The grip is amazing. It fits in the hand very well and can be shot sideways for portraits with the bottom grip and side trigger.
The auto focus is amazing. Its very fast and has some sort of predictive tracking I think.
The light metering is great too. I cant say its ever made a mistake before.
It has all the modes you could want: program, shutter, aperature and manual.
It has tons of pro features like depth of field preview, mirror lockup, viewfinder shutter, removeable finder and focus screens, AE and AF lock, bracketing, exp compensation, and tons more.,
It has all sorts of electronic settings which can be simplified by connecting it to a computer with the Nikon software.
If you're a professional, this is the ultimate camera ever made for the 35mm format.
