Pros: Lightweight, water resistant, auto point and shoot great zoom quality 35-170mm
Cons: No panoramic mode (only on deluxe model), no image stabilizer
The Bottom Line: Excellent quality camera, at a rock bottom price. A great choice for the amateur photographer, who wants point and shoot that is easy to use.

I bought this camera twice. First at WAL MART at list $228.98. At 2nd WAL MART found on clearance at $137.00....I refunded the 1st one. WAL MART reduced price to carry more Minolta at their stores.
I have several years experience with Olympus cameras. I find their quality to be excellent, at an affordable price.
If you are looking for an easy to use point and shoot autofocus 35mm camera, this is a great model to consider buying and own. The many features included are autoload, auto focus, date/time imprint, 38-170 zoom lens. Open the clamshell case and the flash pops up. You can choose from 6 flash modes, which include fill in flash, no flash, night mode, red eye reduction, backlight mode, auto mode. The self timer is great. Use with a tripod, and the self timer so you can be sure to get into your photos too. This model is weather resistant.
I took this to Edinburgh Scotland and London England last week. I shot 13 rolls of 400 aso 35mm film. Just about all of my photos were terrific. The daylight pictures have a crisp, clear color quality. I took an evening photo of Edinburgh Castle. It came out, but with 800 speed film it would have provided better clarity and color, used in conjunction with the night mode setting.
The downsides include no image stabilizer. If you are not rock steady without a tripod, at full 170 zoom your photos may be a little out of focus. On a moving bus, you may encounter the same situation. In the dark, at our traditional Scottish banquet, I was about 15 feet away from the stage. I took several photos of the performers. The images are visible, but a tad dark. They are not however completely overexposed.
Overall, I really like this new camera. I plan to use it quite often.
