| Russhoolio's Full Review: Pentax IQZoom 120MI Date 35mm Film Camera |
This is a really really really nice camera. It is sturdy, has 120mm of zoom, and is the same size as the Olympus Stylus Epic, which has no zoom at all. This camera is smaller than other brands 90mm point and shoots. One thing that would have been nice is a wider angle than 38mm. but the pictures are sharp.
It is also loaded with features. It has low light automatic exposure mode for easy time exposures at night. It also has bulb mode for the purists. AND it has automatic fill flash available in both modes. Some other makers include that in their cameras too.
But what most don't have that this Pentax DOES have is Spot Auto Focus. More simply, you can turn the fancy autofocus off and turn simple autofocus on. That way tricky scenes that will fool the camera but won't fool you won't leave you with a fuzzy picture.
I saw a lot of places selling this camera for $249. But they only sold the camera at that price. A couple other places were selling the kit for only $10 more. The kit included a leather case ($15) , a battery ($7), and a wireless remote control ($25). So it pays to shop around a little and not be fooled by someone's "low" price.
I also got the 4 year extended warranty from Pentax for only $20! One place wanted $120 for their own "guarantee." They claimed to "foot the repair bill." HA! The factory extended warranty I got for $20 includes a full cleaning and camera rebuild/upgrade and the rebuild extends the warranty by a year. So I can actually make it a 6 year total warranty.
