The Panasonic SC-DK1 is a great home theater system for anybody. The price is low, the quality is great, and the setup is easy.
This is one of the best systems you can buy. It is perfect for big rooms, medium size rooms, and small rooms. Most systems that rival this are about twice as much. The msrp on this system is $569 while others like it are $899(Panasonic SC-HT80) and $1500 (JVC THA10). The other systems i just mentioned have less power also.
SC-DK1 = 330 watts
SC-HT80 = 240 watts
THA10 = 200 watts
As soon as you open the box you can tell that the pieces included in this package are all of great quality. Even the cd tray is sturdy, along with the tape decks and buttons. Even at full volume the sound on the SC-DK1 is great. I doubt anyone would even want to listen at full volume, because you would go deaf in an hour.
All the wiring is included so you wont have to spend any extra time or money when setting this up. The center channel and two surround speakers each have their own rca play which go into the labeled inputs. Then each big speaker has four wires that are labeled by colors that go into the back of the unit. I don't recommend wasting your money on Monster wires because the wires it comes with are more than sufficient. Then you put the center channel speaker on top of the TV and the big speakers next to it. Then put the surround speakers to the side or behind of the listening position and have fun !
