This is a great camera for someone just looking for a point and shoot with reasonable quality. At 2.0 megapixels, it's not high enough fidelity to make prints larger than 4x6, but how often do you do that anyway? I just keep the pictures on my computer. At the highest quality, 1600x1200, each picture is between 700kb and 1mb, and at medium quality (1280x960), the pictures are only around 300kb and look great on screen.
To me the best part is how small and light it is. I can just carry it in my pocket and always have it on the ready. And everybody loves the slick circular design.
Also, while the pictures are "only" 2.0MP, the lens is quite good so the pictures are clear. I know a few people with 3-4MP cameras whose pictures look worse than mine. There are two focus levels, 3-5 ft and 5+ ft. The close lens is good for artsy close ups, and the far lens is good for general service and has a great autofocus in my experience.
The camera has 8mb of internal storage, which you will quickly realize is not enough. I bought a 64mb card for around $35 and can now take ~300 1280x960 shots. You can transfer them to a computer with the USB cord. The computer simply treats it as an external drive, so transfer is easy.
It takes two AAs. It has no problems with battery consumption. I once took nearly 300 pictures over the course of 5 days and the battery meter hadn't even lost one (of three) bars.
The only failure of this camera is the low light performance. The flash will only reach about 10ft, and if there's not enough light the pictures might come out blurry or simply too dark. There are adjustments for longer or shorter exposure and four settings for different light types (flourescent, incandescent, cloudy, bright sun), which are effective, but the long exposure simply doesn't go long enough for nighttime or poorly lit rooms.
