Pros: Great travel/portrait camera. Sharp Medium format photos. Compact & fully automatic.
Cons: Zoom lens only, Non TTL flash shoe, difficult manual focus.
The Bottom Line: Take truly professional grade photos without the cumbersome details associated with medium format. If your primary format is printing (albums and enlargements), this is your camera.

| appl044's Full Review: FUJIFILM GA645Zi Rangefinder Camera |
I have shot 1000's of photos with this camera. It is small and compact enough not to be a nuisance on vacations. This is the easiest medium format camera to handle. Can be set at fully auto or manual. This camera is a real workhorse.
If you are considering digital, ask yourself one question.
"Do you want prints or image files?" If you want prints, go for this camera, as the 645 image size easily bests all 35MM images. Bigger image, more information. More information, better prints. Similar to digital cameras, more pixels, better images.
If you use this camera, pick up a good flash, like a Vivitar 283. The camera flash shoe is the X-Type, non TTL. A 283 allows you to manually set the flash FSTOP and shoot away. This will improve your photos as the oncamera flash is poor. I basically leave it at f8 and 1/60 or 1/90 and shoot away. Hard to go wrong at this setting for portraits. I tested this flash and it syncs at all speeds with the GA645ZI.
So, you could shoot at 1/500 if you figure out the right fstop combination.
Accepts 120 and 220 film.
The camera also prints out the shot details right on the film. This allows you to bracket and check after the fact on which photo "worked". I would just leave this setting always on.
