Pros: Well made and fully featured system; Super quiet and very efficient; less expensive than C/A.
Cons: None so far except for the initial installers.
The Bottom Line: The Fujitsu has an excellent reputation for the quality of their units and their costs are reasonable compared to other makers. Great system for completed homes where C/A is prohibitive.

| newtownbeans's Full Review: Fujitsu 12C1 Split System Air Conditioner |
I just recently had the Fujitsu 12C1 Split System A/C installed and I can say that I am very happy with this system so far. The indoor unit which hangs on the wall is comparatively unobtrusive and can be mounted very high, as long as there is at least 3-4 inches of clearance from the ceiling or beams, in order to dismount and reconnect the unit when needed.
A word of caution as far as installation....make sure that whoever does this has had some experience with installing these units. In my case, the salesperson and the technicians who came to do the install were very pleasant and careful, but they did not have the expertise with these units and consequently made a huge blunder by placing the drain line above the lineset as it exited the wall. This caused the drain line to have insufficient pitch to allow condensation to drain properly. When the job was finished they checked the temperature of the cool air coming out and then left instead of hanging around for 10 or 15 minutes to see that the drainage was OK. So I left for about 1/2 hour and when I came back there was a small flood in my living room. The condensation was not draining out of the drain line and was instead dripping out from the wall unit onto my floor. Needless to say, they had to come back and reset the position of the drain tube and I insisted that they stay to insure that it was working properly.
They also did not set the outdoor compressor high enough on the pad to allow for easy access to the valves. I had them correct that too. There were a few other issues with the installation that I had to keep after them so that it would look as good as possible as far as the lineset tubing, the bracketing, taping, etc.
As far as the operation of the unit itself, I am very happy with it. The 12,000 BTU unit cools my entire 1100 s.f. 1st floor. It has many features such as swing louvers, quiet mode, timer, a wide range of temperature settings, dry mode, 3 fan speeds and a super quiet setting. The indoor unit is extremely quiet even on the high cool setting with high fan speed. When I first used it, the room temperature on my first floor was 80 degrees and it dropped to 70 degrees in about 20 minutes and removed about 80 percent of the humidity. The remote unit has many features and is easy to use. The outdoor compressor is also super quiet and takes up very little space, much less than a traditional central A/C unit.
So if you're tired of lugging window units in and out every year, listening to their noisy motors and putting up with their ugly look on the outside of your home, not to mention giving up the use of a window in every room each summer, then I recommend you try a split system such as the Fujitsu.
