| ergodoy's Full Review: Fujitsu LIFEBOOK C7651 (FPCM30493) PC Notebook |
The C7651 was kind of their mid-range model when I bought it. It was also a cheap alternative to the Vaio, HP or Toshiba models in the same processor/memory range. I hadn't really heard much about the brand, so I thought I was taking a chance with it. Surprise! It looks very nice and has worked great despite coming with me to some very austere conditions while deployed to Turkey,Kuwait and Iraq. It has survived dust storms and freezing weather with no more protection than my backpack. The screen is big and nice and bright. I have since upgraded to XP Pro and put in a bigger hard drive with no failures at all.
It's got two PCMCIA slots which I currently have occupied with a memory card reader and a wireless card. These two make this a fairly up to date computer, with the added bonus of having a floppy drive and the legacy ports in back. I'm planning on keeping this baby for the forseeable future, as it's really gone past any expectations I had for it originally. The only thing I would like additionally is a DVD burner, but that would require more RAM and maybe a faster processor... longer battery life would also be nice!
