I bought this second laptop for my Honey while I was deployed. I wanted her to have something small, light, but quick, because she's only 5 foot 2 inches tall. A smaller laptop was in order but I didn't want to skimp on speed.
First, the price. I paid just over 1100 bucks for this lifebook. Keep that in mind as i describe it.
It has a dvd player with a cd-rewriter in the same drive.
The graphics run off shared memory (some people don't like that but you can increase or decrease how much of your processor is used for graphics.) It works fine with me and I've actually started using it when I create 3d games and play them. It works well.
The speakers are nicer than older Fujitsu laptops. In fact they sound nice.
It comes in at under 4 lbs... that's light! And Honey can easily pick it up with one hand. Perfect for her transporting it.
The coolest thing about Fujitsu: when you call, they don't take a computer off the shelf and send it to you. They place your order and the people in Osaka, Japan actually build it for you and ship it. Nobody likes reheated burgers.
Fujitsu will provide you with the most reliable computers you'll ever use. Pop over to www.fujitsupc.com and scan their homepage for a PC Magazine graphic. You'll see... you'll understand even better when you buy the lifebook and never have to call tech support.
