Pros: HQ, PAL/SECAM-L, 2SCARTS ,really fast rewind, direct drive, good price, silent when running
Cons: Mono only,
not well distributed in Belgium, would like to see more shops selling it.
The Bottom Line: Compared to SAMSUNG, Philips, TENSAI and some other brands,
I found FUNAI products the best thought and well designed
for what I needed.

I have bought a 4 heads FUNAI VCR one year ago
and I am completely delighted with it.
The quality of images and sound is really good.
Remote command options are the best I had experienced
for the moment.
What is really good is that
The 4 heads are HQ and you feel it when comparing to other brand not using HQ heads
PAL/SECAM-L,
2 SCARTS, which are really solid and well fixed to the
back compared to other brands
delivered with SCART cable, remote control and
batteries for a really GOOD price,
batteries are standard ones AA.
6 LEDS display including seconds (which are only 4 LEDS
on some more expensive SAMSUNG models and annoying for positioning) which makes positionning a pleasure,
real time positioning with the LED event in TURBO Rewind.
Programmation menus and interface is really well thought
including Mon-Fri options, menus are really intelligently
designed, automatic detection of cassette size, as the
counter advance in real time.
Eject button on the remote command (some PHILIPS models
only have it on the box ;((
Standard screws allow easy removal of the cap if sometimes
a cartridge was stucked inside (not often but useful to know the screws are standards)!
Manual is really well done, and does not take the user
for a dummy (like PHILIPS does)
Easy selection of LP/SP (it took me hours to find how
to do it on a Philips)
No extra, gadget, unuseful option that you will never use
(like Philips Tape library,...)
