Pros: Stylish Fast cooking, lots of cooking method choices. great quick service
Cons: Noisy venting, confusing dial time and cooking settings poor interior lighting.
We bought the Advantium because we were replacing our double over & under oven which had worn out.
the Advantium is a good fit with the companion gas stove and does a great job of venting the heat and smoke if routed to the outside it also is a good source of lighting for the cooktop
we did not get to see an actual demonstration but bought it on the the concept, and the look of the unit in the showroom WOW!
the installation is straight forward and simple.
the cooking methods are awesome, and at some point we'll be able to use all the capabilities without the mental gymnastics of configuring times and heat, upper, lower etc, do we microwave or use heat, or both?
the oven has a lot of potential for the daring, and I'm sure GE has a winner whose day will come! although I'm not sorry to have bought it 6 months ago, I feel it needs some design improvements
1 The Advantium door window is not centered on the unit and is distracting when combined with an oven vertical centerline.
2 The vent fans are distractingly noisy, even vented to the outside. High or low settings
3 the interior light is very very weak, and we often have to open the door to get a good look at the cooking progress. this lamp also burned out after 6 months and required a service call to replace it (very fast service, next day)
4 The constantly rotating carousel top has to be changed out for microwave or heat cooking (glass or metal) and it has to be carefully placed and oriented to the center tabs
