hyphenate's Full Review: General Electric Wireless Optical Mouse (HO97990)
I love this mouse. At least I think I do. It's great because I don't have to worry about wrapping a cord around everything, switching from left to right (I'm a leftie) or even working on my lap when one of my furbabies decides she wants to sleep in front of the keyboard. As a leftie, though, I do find the side buttons inconvenient, but that's a minor detail. The major problem--the really BAD problem--is that the darn batteries drain SO bloody fast! I have had it less than a month now, and I've changed batteries twice already, after the initial ones that were included in the pack. I thought maybe it had sat around a while, and it had depleted the shelf life of the batteries, but since then, two more sets of BRAND NEW batteries have been put in and drained to the point of aggravation. The last set worked less than a week!!
Perhaps in the future, there could be a recharging unit when you aren't working at the computer, like overnight with the cordless phone, but if you hate the thought of changing batteries at least three or four times a month, I would advise you to choose a different mouse.
