This cooler buzzes and is loud. Do not recommend. The store we bought this wine cooler from will not take it back and GE service is atrocious. The first service appointment took 4 weeks until someone was sent out and then the service guy just shrugs his shoulders and says thats the way these compressors are. He was ready to leave and then admitted there was a different problem with the grill that needed to be replaced, but this does not solve the loud, disturbing buzzing.
Don't buy from Tasco as they will not accept any returns and avoid this buzzy wine cooler, if you want a Danby they are $1,000 less than this overpriced buzz-generator. Compared side by side with the GE profile beverage fridge, this one is much, much louder. We like the bev. fridge, but have to send this beast to the basement, what a waste of over a thousand dollars.
We bought GE because of the name recognition and trust in the brand, but after dealing with their lousy customer service would not buy again. You must be deaf if you cannot hear the buzzing on this unit which trumps the combination of our Miele Dishwasher, the large Kitchenaid side-by-side refrigerator plus the profile beverage fridge, and yet this buzz-beast out sings them all, too disturbing on a day to day basis and no one (GE or retailer) will accept any responsibility or do anything.
