| badbrain's Full Review: Gateway DC-M50 Digital Camera |
I purchased this product because I thought Gateway had broken the price barrier for high MP cameras. I was correct but I didn't realize that Gateway was relying solely on price to enter the market. Some people believe this product is the same as the Argus DC3810 which has received terrible reviews. What I know from my experience is that this product is terribly slow in startup, focus, and time between shots. Also, Gateway charges a $45 restocking fee so don't expect to just return it for a full refund. In short, this clearly is a case of you get what you pay for. The Canon A70 seems to be locked around $300 (maybe a little less) but everyone seems to like it. I'll probably purchase that one instead.
