Pros: The box it comes in has nice graphics on it.
Cons: Tempo adjust function is a joke - absolutely useless, avoid it like the plague.
The Bottom Line: Do not buy this product if you think that the tempo adjust function works adequately, as it does not. It is absolutely 100% pathetic.

| petebonger's Full Review: Gemini Sound Products PDT-6000 Turntable |
I purchased a pair of Gemini PDT-6000 turntables when they first came out in the UK in July 2002. As it was a new product I was unable to try the decks out anywhere before I purchased them. I foolishly believed that the tempo change function would enable me to change the tempo of the record without affecting the pitch, and without losing too much in the way of sound quality. When I got the decks they felt very solid and looked pretty smart. However, when I tried out the tempo change function i found the loss in sound quality to be completely unacceptable (it was a joke). There was no way in my opinion that the tempo adjust function on these decks could ever be used anywhere in public professionally.
I could not believe that a company like Gemini would actually put their name to a product that was this bad, and to make matters worse they were making claims on their website that this deck was the "future of digital turntableism". If this is the future, then the whole DJ/Music industry is in serious trouble.
Fortunately I had purchased the decks from a local dealer, who, after several phone calls to Gemini agreed to take them back and swapped them for a pair of 1210MK3's. When I originally purchased the decks they cost £400 each. They can now be purchased in the US for $269 which at the moment is about £150 (May 2004). I hope that if anyone else is considering buying this product for the tempo change function that they think twice as in my opinion it is a joke, and would be more suited to a child's toy.
I would like to thank Gemini for ignoring all correspondence from me when I was making enquiries about the product before I bought it. They must have known then how useless the tempo adjust function was!
