Thanks to all you guys who commented:

I posted this review and it was the very first guitar review on Epinions, as I recall. Sparkospunky would remember. There were only a smattering of models available. No other Les Paul Custom was listed. If you can direct me to the proper page, I'll gladly repost this.

Thanks again

A Good Review (Reply to this comment)

I am not trying to be critical, just informative. The Les Paul Black Beauty 1954 reissue has a solid mahogany body (no maple top), and does not have humbuckers. Instead it has a P-90 bridge pickup and a Alnico 5 in the neck position. I used to own a real 1956 version of this model, until it was stolen. Of all the guitars I have ever owned, this was my favorite.

Is yours a '54? (Reply to this comment)

Judging by your description, and the fact that you're talking about humbuckers, it sounds like yours is a '57 Custom, not a '54 Custom. I also own this guitar, but it's fitted with an Alnico Single Coil at the neck, and a P-90 single-coil at the bridge, the combination of which make its sound very bright, not at all warm. This is the original '54 setup. If yours has gold humbuckers, then it's a '57.
It's a pleasure to own either way!

Strats and Les Pauls (Reply to this comment)
by dmezzer
I own a Stratocaster and some acoustics. A Les Paul will be my next purchase. Can't wait to compare the two. I'm pretty sure a guy can love 2 guitars equally...

I've always loved Les Pauls, and this one is serious on the drool factor!

learn to play "HOW High the Moon."
Are you way to young for that?
