Broken wheel after only 5 walks

Pros: Air wheels - smooth ride
Cons: Broken easily - can't repair
The Bottom Line: A travel system is only good if it holds up for more than one month (considering we had very light use). Must be why it's discontinued.

We did a lot of research and added this system to our registry because it got great safety reviews and because of the smooth riding air tires. We received it as a gift on our registry and after our baby was born took her for about 5 short trips in the stroller before one wheel broke completely off. The wheels are connected by plastic pieces and one shattered completely so we were left on three wheels to get our newborn back to the car.
We were still happy with the stroller and just wanted replacement parts to fix it. We called Graco and they said it wasn't possible. We had to send it back, only we wouldn't get the same stroller back, we would just get a replacement. We weren't happy with that option since we didn't know what we would get, how it compared in safety ratings, and whether it would match the pattern of the matching infant car seat we have as part of the original system. The other option was to send back the entire system, Graco would send us a refund 6-8 weeks later, and we could purchase something else. We weren't happy with that either, since we would have to shell out the money for a new system and wait to be reimbursed.
Graco suggested that we contact our retailer to possibly exchange our system because it was still brand new. Our system came from Target. When we brought the system into Target they wanted a receipt. We didn't have a receipt because it was a gift. It was on our registry but that wasn't good enough. Apparently, they have discontinued selling this model and would only give us $34.99 for the $200 system.
So now we are forced to buy another system (since we can't get the Air 6 anywhere and are a little nervous about this happening again)and return the first to Graco.
