User Rating: Disappointing
Ease of Use:
Pros:Fashionable, looks great, easy to snap on to base in car and compatible strollers
Cons:Material is horrible, baby quickly outgrew, handle malfunctions
The Bottom Line: I would not buy this particular fabric by Graco again, nor would I buy a Snugride seat given how quickly my child grew out of it.
After months and months of reviewing carseats and their brands, we decided upon a Graco snugride, given Graco's stellar reputation and excellent reviews. Then came the fun part : choosing a fabric. We narrowed it down to prints and colors that were considered unisex given that fact we had no idea what we were having yet; and also wanted to be able to use the carseat for future children if we so decided to have any.

We chose the Metropolitan fabric for it's sleek and contemporary design. The black and silver complimented each other nicely, and didn't look like all the other stroller and carseat fabrics we had seen around town.
We put our 7.5 pound newborn in this on the way home from the hospital, and the baby was swimming in it, even with the added padded headrests that Graco includes in various sizes.
Quickly, however, our son fit more nicely in it as he began to increase in weight. He hated to be put in the seat while we struggled with the straps, but once buckled in, he usually fell asleep after fussing for our normally short rides.
When he was two months old, we took him on a longer (45 minute) trip. Midway there, our son starts screaming. We had to stop on the side of a busy highway to get him out. He was sweating profusely and very upset. I then remembered each time I would go to get him out of his seat, he seemed to be sweaty at the back. I gathered this was from the material which allows for no breathability, and is rather rough feeling.
He also began to outgrow the seat at two months, and only 22 inches in length. He looked too long and crammed in to continue use. This, along with the fact that the material of the Metro carseat fabric caused him to overheat, caused us to buy another brand of carseat in which he now loves. We also had issues with the Snugride's handle; it seemed to get "stuck" a few times.
Graco's customer service is great, however, and allowed for us to send the seat back. We do have a Graco stroller in which we LOVE, however I will not be purchasing any more of their carseats for my son or any future children.
