Graphics Card
When I first installed this card I didn't notice anything special about it. It seemed like a regular graphics card. God was I wrong. As soon as I booted up my computer and installed all my drivers I witnessed the most amazing graphics of my life. I than decided to see the power of this card by playing Battlefield:1942.I was amazed to see that it was life-like.My previous card had lagged like crazy when I was playing this game.With this card it was unbelievably smooth. I didn't realize that a great graphics card would help my gaming so much.
TV-Tuner
When I finally stopped playing my games I decided to use the other features of this graphics card. I connected my cable line to the TV-tuner and turned on the TV-Listings program that came with the card. It automatically asked if I wanted to download the Tv listing. I clicked yes and within a couple of seconds. I had a whole list of all my channels conviniently listed for me. I started watching and decided to try the TV recording feature. There were 4 recording modes to choose from: DVD,Good,Longer and Video CD. I set it on DVD and recorded an episode of MTV's Cribs. I left my computer for about an hour and opened up the video file. The graphics card made the video beautiful and the DVD quality recording was great.
Video-Out
Another feature I tried out was the video out. I connected the 9700 pro to the TV and got DVD quality video from a video I thought to be in very bad quality. I thought for a second if it made my video this good imagine what it will do for my games. I busted out the Battlefield: 1942 disc and started playing. I was totally blown away. It was like watching a DVD of people running around with guns. The images were sooooooo crisp and clear. I thought that it couldn't get any better than this. This is a must have for a hardcore gamer.
Video-In
The ATI ALL-IN-WONDER 9700 PRO Graphics Card came with some video capture software and hardware. I hooked up the needed cables and hooked up my video camera. I opened up the Pinnacle Studio (came with the graphics card) and started capturing the video. It was very good quality for a composite in. I think that the quality from a DV Gate would be better but I didn't have the money to spend on it so this would have to do. I can't say that I was disappointed with the quality of the captured video. It was good but not as good as it could get.
Other Stuff:
When you first get the card there is no tv-out or dual monitor compatability UNTIL you get the newest patches off their website. The bundled CD's : The Elder Scrolls:Morrowind, Pinnacle Studio 8,Matchware Mediator,Some driver CD's.
I think for all the features this Graphics card has, this was a complete steal. I would have probably paid for just a graphics card with no additional feature for the price of this card. So to make all of what I have said short. THIS CARD IS THE BEST AND GREATEST CARD EVER!
