| dts's Full Review: ATI RAGE FURY MAXX, (64 MB) AGP Video Card |
ATI Brings in the New Year by releasing a graphics card with a whopping sixty-four megabytes of video memory, accompanied by dual graphic processors. It's just as easy to install as any other card; but be warned that it's a lot larger than previous ATI and Voodoo AGPs.
After using the card for about a day, I'm only noticing minor differences between it and the ATI Rage Fury card I had previously (also a good card).
The card is stable, supports 32-bit color (above some other AGPs) and works fine with my system. However, I'm not sure I would reccomend it over less expensive AGP Graphics accelerators; the difference is minimal and unless you're running some of the more recently released 3d Games, or only buy new hardware to brag to your friends about your Quake framerates and benchmarks, the difference is difficult to notice.
Like any RAGE graphics board, it supports DVD playback, and comes with an updated version of the ATI DVD player, complete with a parental control lock. However, with few products in the industry that would actually need the huge memory cach on this board, I would wait for the price to drop a bit before reccomending this card.
