The Matrox G400 Max Dualhead Windows 2000 drivers do not support multiple processors (SMP). My Dell Workstation 420 shipped with this card, and it works well if I disable one of my two processors. However, if I enable both processors and run any 3d application, Windows 2000 blue-screens.
Matrox have accepted this as an issue with their W2K drivers, but have no plans to write an SMP compatible driver. I have no idea whether this is also true for Matrox drivers for other Operating Systems, but as this is a policy decision on the part of Matrox, I would advise that you check before purchasing for a multi-processor PC.
This will not affect the majority of PC owners, as multi-processor machines are not common. However, I thought it worth a mention.
Otherwise, this seems to be a reasonable 3D card.
