| markph's Full Review: harman/kardon AVR 635 7.1 Channels Receiver |
Wow! Ever since I saw this big boy, I couldn't say no. I even listened to sales personnel at other stores try to sell me on other brands. Even spent hours reading up and doing my homework.
I ended up with the 635 for some simple reasons.
* I had to have 3 component video inputs
* I loved the way HK tucked away the front buttons and A/V hookups in the "little door"
* simplistic design and interface, uncluttered by buttons all over the place
* LCD actually shows you WHAT is coming in / being powered with speaker layout diagram
The watts per channel did not concern me. After hearing this receiver push speakers in the store...I was quite satisfied. In fact -- I purchased the Polk Audio 6900 series, which sound crystal clear and I loose no distortion when pushing the volume up on the receiver.
Movies are crystal clear. I can hear faint rain drops, dialogue and explosions very clearly.
This is my third week owning my new HK, and I can't find enough time to enjoy it!
