| gizzer777's Full Review: harman/kardon AVR 7200 7.1 Channels Receiver |
I recently replaced my relatively lightweight (compared to this) avr125 receiver with this bad boy. All I can say is that it blows away every other receiver up to $2000 that I listened to! Harmon Kardon watts per channel are HIGH CURRENT and conservately rated.
I mostly use my system for Home Theater now and the 7200 has a different processing chip than the lower priced HK units. When watching a movie on my newly aquired 50" Panasonic LCD proj HDTV, the realism is amazing. To make matters better, it is also quite musical with audio sources!!!
I admit that I was pleased with my Ole HK125 but had no idea that the 7200 would make such a dramatic difference. I have been through the higher end equip through the years and had decided to reduce the size of my setup due to space considerations (had all separates) This receiver is like bringing me back to the quality reproduction that I was used to with the separates....
Another nice thing is that it has a vewry similar front control system that I was already used to (from my AVR125) so the learning curve and setup took less time then usual. Tweaking is another story since this beast has alot more to set and control then I had previously. I might even hook up the 6th and 7th channel to check it out!
Be prepared though It weighs 61 lbs and lifting it up to my rack took some effort. it is also huge in size! Might consider using a forklift! -grin-
