| chicklover33's Full Review: harman/kardon AVR 7200 7.1 Channels Receiver |
I had an old model HK AVR 7000 with BOSE AM-15 System and I had been happy with them for years. One day, at a friend party, I was so impressed with her Home Theather System especially when the Karaoke Party took place(she has two Denons 3803 with some big speakers that I can't recall the names). I started to think about building a Karaoke Sound System in one designated room in my 5 bed-room house.
First, I purchased a Pair of Klipsch RF-5 front speakers; a Klipsch RC-35 Center; 4 Klipsch Quintets for Surround and Surround Back. I didn't forget to add a Velodyne CHT-12" Subwoofer also. Then, I purchased a Phoenix DSP Karaoke Mixer and an Electro Voice Wireless Microphone (These guys are all top of the line - the microphone costed $500.00 itself)
I could not remember how many times that I had returned and exchanged for a better receiver since I had never been happy with the sound those receivers produced. First, it was the Onkyo TSX-R601 then exchanged for the Onkyo TSX-R701. Then, the Denon AVR-1804 to the Denon AVR-3803. Once again, the Pioneer Elite 53TX to the Yamaha VX-R2400. You probably get sick of me when reading this - tell you what, I was sick of myself, too.
so I went on the internet reading lots of reviews for lots of receivers and Harman Kardon AVR - 7200 was never caught my attention at first since I've already gotten the older model AVR-7000. Last week, Fry's Electronic advertised selling the HK AVR-7200 for $799.00 on the newspaper, and this time I was really into it. I paid a visit to Fry's afterwork to examine this receiver for at least an hour (one thing made me worry was that they didn't have it demo so I couldn't listen to the sound of it). I thought, what the heck ! just bought it - not happy ----> returned and exchanged one more time (I LOVE AMERICA FOR THE EXCHANGE & REFUND POLICIES BY THE WAY).
Brought this Monster HK AVR-7200 Receiver home, connected it and what a surprised it was !!!! It sounded ways better than any receivers which I had returned. Even though it's 100W x 7, but I thought it was 160W x 7. So strong, so warm, so clear and so good looking. It looks almost the same like my AVR-7000 but the design in the back is much better and definetely sounds way better.
I am really happy now. All that packing, returning, exchanging and carrying those heavy receivers caused me lost 7lbs of my weight in a whole month.
I just want to share with you the real story of mine so you may not have to do the same thing like I did. Give this receiver a shot, and you will never be happier !!!!
Good luck and thank you for reading my story.
