wildthing33's Full Review: Logitech Harmony® 659 LCD Remote Control
What a pleasure to purchase something that really lives up to its reputation!
Among the mass of accumulated remotes over the years with their various learning curves and limited capabilities, it is a real pleasure to own this unit.
Although somewhat challenging to initially set up for someone with limited technical or computer oriented skills; once it is done, all functions are saved for future reference if ever needed or just simply to make a small modification or equipment changeout.
I was amazed that once the model numbers of my associated equipment were entered, it instantly recognised some units that had never been mentioned in any manual or was able to be controlled by other "smart" devices. I had stuff dating back to the VietNam Era that I had simply given up on ever controlling by remote again. The Harmony took care of it.
Changing batteries; no problem; memory stays intact.
The intuitive built in "help" button is really ingenious.
If the wife ( I'll just use her as the example ) points the Harmony away from the equipment before everything turns on and something gets missed or mis-switched; that little "help" button walks you right through it. It usually corrects the problem on the first keypress.
The only complaint I have is that I own only one and much prefer over any of the original remotes. It needs a remote locator chime so that I can find it ( or my wife ).
I plan to get another one very soon.
