jk1999's Full Review: Labtec Elite 840 Consumer Headphones
I've had this headphone for about 2 months now and I recommend it to anyone who needs to buy a headphone. I paid $19.99 on sale.
Primary comparison is made to the famous Grado SR-60 (about $80) headphones and Sennheiser 580 headphone (I paid $175 for this one). I use the 580 as reference and the Grado when I am outdoors and need something less delicate.
This is just about as comfortable as the Sennheiser 580's which is one of the most comfortable headphones you can own. I've stopped using the Grado's altogether because it's so uncomfortable compared to the Labtec 840.
One thing that really impressed me about the 840's sound is the tight bass. A lot of headphones have a boomy-ness to the bass, but 840's bass is nice and controlled, almost as nice as the Sennheiser 580's.
The midrange has a little more grain than the grado's and the sennheisers, but we're comparing a $20 headphone to much expensive ones.
The top end is about extended as the Grado's.
I really like this headphone because it's so comfortable and the sound is near-audiophile quality.
