Pros: Well, it has a scanner and my teen age son has a ball with this.
Cons: Not worth the money or aggravation.
The Bottom Line: Investigate replacement costs for color and black cartridges. I would have bought a second printer by now with what I have spent. You may not need bells and whistles.

You can't imagine how excited I am to do a review on this product. You see, my husband and I went copier shopping two years ago with little notion of what we really needed. We just knew our old copier was dead and we had to have a new one ASAP for his construction company. We simply went to the Best Buys and Circuit City type stores in our area without doing ANY RESEARCH.
How dumb can that be? I didn't even think of taking my 15-year old son with me which was also insane. Maybe he would have caught on to the fact that the HP PSC 500 uses both the color and black cartridges and you CANNOT push a button to make simple black and white copies. Oh, no. Each time you make a copy (store receipt, estimate, proposal, page in a magazine, book report, etc.) it uses the COLOR CARTRIDGE which is VERY EXPENSIVE. Let me tell you again, it is VERY EXPENSIVE and you will be shocked at how quickly you have to replace both cartridges. Oh, sure. My son's school reports look great with photos of George W. Bush (or just "W" as we call him here in Texas) and Clinton (or we just call him... well, never mind) copied off the Internet. We have scanned a few things here and there but if you are looking for a more economical printer/scanner/copier, I suggest you buy either the HP a step up from ours and with a simple push of one button you can make black and white copies.
