This has been a pretty reliable laptop for almost two years now. I had one real problem with it. About 6 months ago after I upgraded the memory - I don't think I caused it, but I found a loose screw inside the unit caused the power to randomly go out. I took the memory cover off and found a very tiny screw (looked like an M3X2.0 screw) loose inside. No damage and it works like a champ. I have the XP2600+ Processor and 768MB or memory (after adding 512MB). I don't run any games, but I do run high-end 3D CAD software. The unit does get hot, but the fan (which is pretty noisy) gets the job done. I noticed that the extra memory really speeds things up. Well worth the money. The right touchpad button started giving me troubles when the computer is first turned on. It gives either multiple clicks for one or no clicks at all. I use the tap feature on the touchpad, so it is not a big deal. I have heard others say the battery life is poor. They gave me a free second battery when I bought it. I guess the life is less than other similar laptops, but it has not been an issue for me. All-in-all I have been very happy this computer.
