| MisterE676's Full Review: Hewlett Packard Photosmart 635 Digital Camera |
The HP PhotoSmart 635 camera... lots of options for a great price and only one downside that I've noticed. This camera is perfect for those who don't want to shell out a lot of dough but would like a solid digital camera.
This digital camera is the first that I have purchased, but not the first one that I have used. It takes very good quality photos with 2.1 megapixels, 3x Optical Zoom and an additional 4x digital zoom which I've found to be a very nice feature. The display will show the full range of what is in your view finder, but then will digitally highlight what is actually in your zoom that will show up in the photo.
The camera comes equipped with 16MB of internal memory but does have a slot for additional memory.
The photosmart 635 is USB compatible and includes a USB cable to link to your PC and also one for your printer. Additionally included in the package are 2 AA batteries, a user friendly user's manual, lens cap, wrist strap, and lens cap tether. There is also a camera dock for use with the optional hp photosmart 8886 camera dock which I have not purchased so cannot comment on.
The picture taking features include auto focus, red eye reduction, auto exposure and auto flash options plus a few more customizable options for you to play with.
I've found that the camera is good for indoor or outdoor use and in any lighting environment. My one complaint is about the battery life.
The hp photosmart 635 will eat batteries up like they are going out of style. The first day I had it I had to use 6 AA batteries (the camera takes 2 at a time). I got about 30-40 pictures taken and reviewed before the batteries were completely spent. I would highly suggest getting some rechargeable batteries for use with this camera or the savings on the camera itself won't mean much in the long run.
If you are careful with how you spend your money but still want quality merchandise... this would be a great digital camera for you.
