| hutzlaw's Full Review: Hewlett Packard Photosmart 635 Digital Camera |
This was my first digital camera. I bought it at a Staples Midnight Madness sale in late 2004. It lasted about a year. It was a huge disappointment, though I didn't realize how bad it was until I had used my second camera (a Canon PowerShot A400) for a while.
It took decent pictures. The quality was never really a problem. This camera's fatal flaw was its battery efficiency. I often could not take 5 pictures without the batteries draining. I am not exaggerating. I could actually go through a dozen batteries in a day. Then, if I left the batteries in the camera, and didn't use the camera for a few days, the batteries would still be drained. I thought that this was normal at the time. It died out a little over a year after I bought it, and about a month after I bought the docking/charging cradle for it. Not surprisingly, it was a failure in the battery compartment.
