| DragonflyMom's Full Review: Hitachi VTFX6404 VCR |
I purchased this VCR at Sam's club for the compact size, features and price. I've regretted it ever since I threw the box in the garbage! The recording quality is substandard. Taping at the four, six or eight hour speeds makes the tape illegible to other VCRs (how embarrassing to loan a tape to a friend and find out that your VCR is so bad that it can only play its own tapes!) I know this to be true - I've tried it on my two other VCRs and seen the problems my friend had. The onscreen program-ability was nifty, while it lasted! I've misplaced the remote and have yet to find a universal remote that can program this VCR to record future events; and there is no way for me to manually program it using the buttons on the unit - there aren't any! I'm hoping to get a new VCR as soon as I can afford one. But let me tell you, I won't just go by the price. You get what you pay for.
