Epinions.com as everyone is aware doesn’t have a very complete database for nearly anything but when I noticed World Poker Tour for the Palm Pilot I had to click on BUY IT!
This is an Impulse I regret
I thought WPT would come on a flash memory disk like past palm games I’ve owned such as Scrabble®, but instead it came on a CD-ROM that you need to install on a PC and sync to your palm pilot. This is no big deal and would be a good thing if they had patches for this game since it doesn’t work.
After installation you now have two new games on your palm pilot, and three icons. The third ICON is a splash screen for the company that makes it, there is no exit from this “program” so you have to use a pre-set key to exit the program and enter calendar or address book. The second program is Casino, this has Craps, Slots, Blackjack, and Roulette
More about this part later, because it is not horrible.
WPT No Limit Hold’EM
Here is where I get Confused. The box that this game came in had me “register at GOMDM.COM” which redirects me to http://www.filaomobile.com/. I tried to send customer support an e-mail about my problem since they don’t list a phone number and received this error message.
I tried using your "FORM" but kept getting this error message

Always a good sign that a company in charge of coding software can’t code a standard CGI function for a mail sub demon. (WARNING SARCASM IN USE)
But here is where it gets STRANGER, on the software itself, when you click ABOUT: you get a completely different company for the exact same game.
The company on the software is called Stand Alone www.standalone.com

I wrote to the forum on Standalone and did receive a reply, I was told to download an upgrade and e-mail for a new registration code (hopefully for free), I haven’t down that yet.
But since the new software is no longer called World Poker Tour Texas Hold’Em I feel safe writing a review for the product I received on a manufactured CD-ROM and not one I downloaded.
The Game of Hold Em
Texas Hold’em is a simple game, played against many players (in this case up to 10) you are dealt two cards (HOLD CARDS). After reviewing your two cards you make a wager. You can FOLD, CHECK (call the highest bet on the table), or RAISE.
You have to make your decision on other peoples prior decisions, and this requires consistency. Some plays are loose, some players are tight, some players are wild, some players are sane. It is important in a simulation that this is also true.
In this game it is not.
All in All the Time
I’ve played real life poker tournaments with bad players, but never players as bad as this game (even on PRO level). Every hand someone goes all in and as many as 4 of the ten people call the all in bet. I’ve seen a guy call an all in bet with 3 and 10 off suit.
Showing cards
At other times this game for no apparent reason was showing every ones cards. Makes winning easy, but not really the point.
The first table I played at everything worked fine, but now everything is out of whack, how this product got to stores like this is mind boggling.
Casino
On the other hand the Casino is fine, Black Jack works, well my only complaint is more house rules vs. programming you can’t double down or split on a split. Some Casino’s you can others you can not. Since I once split 7’s 4 times in a row and doubled down 3 times on the splits and then had the dealer get 21 (she was showing a 3), this might save me a lot of fake money.
Roulette and Craps are basic, no dice animation in Craps, but I guess it is OK, it is not my game. And of course Slots, the most boring Casino game none to man mind yet for some reasons included in every Casino game. If the money isn’t real what is the point?
