Pros: Amazing cleaning, well built, fully assembled in box.
Cons: Short cord, tanks are awkward.
The Bottom Line: It cleans very well, puts the Bissell to shame.

| hsuc's Full Review: Hoover F6212-900 / F6215-900 SteamVac Agility Upri... |
I just spent the last 10 months using a Bissell Pro Heat that cost $300. Out of frustration, I caved in and decided to get a Hoover to replace it. The difference in cleaning power is simply astounding!
With the Hoover, most stains are completely removed in a single pass. Simply spray detergent on the push forward, and vacuum the water back on the pull back. On the rare occasion that I found a stubborn stain, a couple of quick passes quickly removed them. Constrast this with the Bissell that required literally a dozen passes for even simple stains. I kid you not! The Hoover pulled up surprisingly dark water from areas that I had cleaned previously with the Bissell.
The Hoover also leaves the carpet fairly dry. As long as I move slowly, the carpet ends up fairly walkable. Within 8 hours, there is hardly any dampness at all. With the Bissell, I had to go over the same area over and over again to vacuum up the water. Even then, the carpet would still feel damp 24 hours later!
Finally, the Hoover appears to be far gentler on the carpet. The Bissell literally leaves a handful of carpet fiber in every room. Since it was my first carpet cleaning, I just assumed that this was normal. Imagine my surprise when the Hoover removed almost no fibers from my carpet. Ugh, I can't imagine how many years of life I have taken out of my carpet by using the Bissell.
The Hoover does have a few weak spots. First, it does not offer any way to turn off the detergent so that you can rinse the carpet with water. The water and detergent are pre-mixed. Secondly, when you run out of water, you always have two tanks to carry back to the sink: one tank with dirty water, and a tank to refill with clean water. The Bissell had a nifty way of using a single tank for both. Finally, the cord on the Hoover is pretty short. It's only good for cleaning a single room.
