Best Western Milwaukee - The "High Life" for Miller Beer drinkers?

Written: Aug 07 '04
Pros:Access to the city. Close to Miller Park and Veterans Home.
Cons:Older neighborhood and building. Milwaukee Brewers fans.

EXPRESS REVIEW-
If you are looking for inexpensive lodging in urban Milwaukee, the Best Western Woods View Inn is a good choice. I stayed here with four other people while traveling through Wisconsin a few years ago.

It is located in an older neighborhood about 5 miles west of downtown. The building is older, and seems to have been converted from some type of institution into commercial lodging.

There is an indoor pool, health club, and free parking. Miller Park Stadium is just one mile away and Zablocki Veteran’s Home is about 5 blocks away. You can walk to either, but I would advise against walking through these areas alone at night.

Our rooms contained double beds and were comfortable and clean, although the décor was older and outdated. A continental breakfast is served but was nothing to write home about.

Inexpensive dining and lounges are nearby. The Miller Brewing Company and Marquette University are less than 20 minutes away. I recommend it for budget-minded travelers.
