Where Is It?
Drury Inn Denver East is located on Peoria Street off of I-70 exits 281 and 282.
Within walking distance of the hotel you will find a McDonalds, Quiznos, Daimler Chrysler and Interpark 70 Distribution Center.
Check In
Check in was quick and easy, taking about 5 to 10 minutes. We were originally drawn to the Drury Inn by a billboard sign stating rooms 㦧.99 and UP, they were up since our room, with 2 standard double beds was $89.00 for night.
The Room
The rooms arent very big and are limited in space, like the Drury Inn I stayed in, in Columbia, MO this room only had double beds. The rooms also had an easy chair, desk with chair, armoire with a TV, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker.
Between the 2 beds was a nightstand which also had an alarm clock. An iron and ironing board were tucked away in the closet, and a there was a hairdryer in the bathroom.
The TV features a number of channels, but most appeared to be new channels and there was no TV guide channel.
Clean Or Not?
At first glance the room appeared to be clean. Later, I realized that the floor wasnt as very clean when I stepped on numerous thorns (like those you would break off of a rose stem). While the of the room appeared clean, it was obvious that it hadnt been vacuumed properly.
Drurys bedding still features the dry-clean only bed spread, but underneath they have clean, crisp white sheets and a warm blanket. Other than the problem with the floor I didnt notice anything else in the room not well taken care of.
Room 310s Issues
I cannot comment on the oddities of all of the rooms, but ours had a few problems which may hint at maintenance issues.
In our bathroom the bathtub had a knob you pulled at the top of the water spout to make the shower turn on. No matter how hard I pulled on it, I could only get the water to run about 50/50 - half out of the water spout and half out of the shower head. Of course this made the water pressure very low for the shower I took.
The other problem I noticed was the refrigerator which wasnt very cold and after looking for a temperature control knob I found that there wasnt one
Hotel Features
This hotel offers a few amenities including a pool that is half inside and half outside. Our room looked right over the outside portion of the pool. The pool area also features a whirlpool and a small fitness room is also on the property.
Drury also has there special offers like 1 hour free long distance, free quick start breakfast, free wireless high-speed internet access, free gated parking, free business center and free soda and popcorn each evening in the lobby.
Breakfast
The breakfast at this hotel was great. They offered up plenty of selections including hot biscuits, eggs, French toast, cereals, yogurt, fruit, coffee, juice, milk, bread, danishes, donuts and more.
The breakfast is held just off of the main lobby and includes a decent sized eating area. It was staffed by 2 employees and kept clean and stocked.
Overall
All in all we watched our TV, got a good nights rest, ate a big breakfast in the morning and checked out as happy campers. The room with tax cost just over $100 and we felt it was well worth it! I recommend this hotel, even though they did leave a thorn in my foot.
