Pros: Location
Cons: Dated, smelly, more expensive than it should be.
The Bottom Line: Unless you are stranded by a storm or have no other place to stay at all, I would look around the area for other hotels.

Staying in Chattanooga should not be a challenge. There are many hotels and cabins in the area one can stay at without complaint.
Though this hotel is situated in an easy to access part of town, and very close to all the tourist attractions, that is where the good stuff ends.
The hotel runs $69.00 per night in slow seasons. So that should give a guage of the cost of sleeping and showering at the hotel. For that price you get:
Hotel Services and Amenities: Elevator(s) Free Continental Breakfast Guest Use Copy Machine * \ Guest Use Fax Machine * Interior Corridors Multi-Lingual Staff No Pets Allowed Outdoor Parking Phone for Hearing Impaired Seasonal Outdoor Poo Computer Hook-up Free Local Calls Hair Dryer Hi-Speed Web Access In-Room Coffee Maker Individual A/C & Heat Microwave Refrigerator
First impression is the parking lot and general look of the place. It seems as if no water hose has touched the exterior in quoite awhile. The lot did have adequate lighting at night, though I never saw signs of a security system.
If I would have lost my money due to not wanting the room after paying for it over the web, I would have run from there. But alas, I was stuck. I was too close to the 48 hour requirement to cancel.
At the front desk I was ringing the bell while trying to put out the smell of home cooking from the India or Pakistan region that pervaded the lobby. And my nostrils.
A door popped open and I was greeted by a man who was in the process of putting his shirt on while walking out the door to the desk! After he snorted a couple of times I was checked in. That process was average and took about 10 minutes to fill out the car with your car phone and home info.
Going up to the elevator and down the hall the smell of dinginess was evident. This was going to be fun.
The room was average and a bit dated, the beds were average queens with nothing impressive to them. The linens did not smell clean, but did not reek of anything too bad. It had an old smell to it and no way to open a window either.
The bathroom had been painted over poorly in my opinion, and the shower was dusty! That did not bode well either. Other than that it was average at best and least the toilet had been cleaned.
The sink/coffee maker are was clean and the coffe packets all there, soap but no shampoos or conditioners. Towels were clean as well as the wash cloths.
The TV cable was the average cable with HBO and basic channels, and the microwave and fridge were clean. The complimentary breaksfast of a few sweet rolls and coffee were nothing to rave about either. It is either small to begin with or they ran out of food when I was there. I opted to eat at a local restaurant instead.
But again, the room was not well lit, dated and needing some upgraded paint and trim. It was something I would have expected from a 30 dollar a night motor inn, and with the exception of the amenities offered, would have been no better.
Service was nothing spectacular and certainly less than expected with the owner walking about with his shirt open when he comes to the desk.
So for the money I am sure there are many other places to stay in the area, for as much or cheaper than the Econ Lodge on 150 Browns Ferry Road.
For over $70 per night after taxes, I would have been more comfortable in my car had I not needed somewhere to put my luggage.
