I just got this laptop as an upgrade from my old unit (IBM T20) This is the best computer i must say i have ever owned. Since the purchase of this machine i did away with my P4 HT desktop. I have had several other laptops mainly dell units. They in no way compare to the quality of an IBM ThinkPad. I bought this Computer because i was able to get one with a company discount and previously owning (and still do own) a T20, I know the quality of these units. The only thing that i dislike about this machine is that the Speakers are not powerful enough. My T20 was twice as loud and a lot clearer. but when i plug in my noise canceling headphones the problem is solved. The battery lasts on average 4.5 hrs and that is the 6 cell with power management. One other thing i should mention, if you are going to actually have this unit on your lap, the T40 with the M processor gives off very little heat. Unlike most other Laptop companies. If you are in the market for a machine that is fast reliable and built well get an IBM.
