Pros: Mahogany body, Dual humbuckers, string through body, bound neck.
I bought an Ibanez AX120 about 1 1/2 years ago thinking that, considering the price of roughly $300, It would do until I could afford something better. Imagine my surprise when, upon receiving my new Ibanez, I realized that it actually played better, and felt more comfortable than the guitar that I was hoping to buy(a Gibson Les Paul). After playing this guitar for a while now, I went to a local guitar shop and played the same guitar that I had wanted before. It was so big and clunky it was unbelievable. The neck of the Ibanez is the perfect shape(not too wide, not too thick) where as the neck of the Gibson is freaking gigantic. The weight difference between the two guitars is also amazing. I didn't have the chance to actually weigh them, but the Gibson has to out weigh the Ibanez by at least 5 lbs! The sound of the Ibanez Is also amazing. You can get almost any sound out of this thing that you want. I play both Metal and Punk(which this is almost the perfect guitar for), but a friend of mine is big into blues and having lost his guitar just before a gig(it actually fell out of the back of truck on the way to the gig!)he called to ask if he could borrow mine for the gig. I brought it to him, and, after the show, he told me that he was seriously thinking about buying an Ibanez to replace his Fender. I think that says quite a bit for the versatility of this guitar.
