Fine for the kids

Cons: You get what you pay for.

The Bottom Line: If you want a video conference camera spend the bucks and get something up to the task. If you want a toy for the kids then get this one.

Lets face it if you expecting a lot from this camera you're probably needing your medication checked. The max resolution is 320x240 or half VGA. At this resolution it will only do about 5 frames per second video. To get decent frame rates you have to run it at 160x120 making for very small video.

The images are fine for web publication but don't bother printing them.

I got this primarily because it was a "free" after rebate deal. I figured it would be a good toy for the kids and in a pinch could be used for video conferencing. As I'm rapidly discovering though when trying to do video over the net there is a good reason that logitech charges >$50 for their cameras.

On the plus side the camera is cheap and that's about it. I had to download the newest drivers from the company web side to get it to work properly under XP but that's no big deal. The image is generally very dark under room light but OK outside.
