When looking for good sound quality components for my stereo system in the car, I was looking for a set of 10's that could play the music I prefer really well along with any other type of music that I'd like to listen to on occasion. I happened to read up on the Image Dynamics IDQ 10's and was impressed with there stats, mainly because the company has been making some of the best woofers used by many people in the IASCA sound quality tournaments.

I took a risk and bought 2 Image Dynamics IDQ 10's giving them there rated 250w rms each, using the dual voice coil that it comes with I ran it bridged to my 2 channel amp giving it 500w. I placed the set in a nice .66 cf MDF sealed box (they reccomend .66 - 1.0cf). This set sounded very clean and hit really hard, probably the best 10's I have ever personally heard. What impresses me is the subwoofers ability to play just about anything, I listen to a lot of metal and harder rock type stuff where bands are using double bass kickdrums and this flawlessly plays them exactly like it's supposed to sound. I never have seen a subwoofer that can do such a thing this well. I have also heard these 10's can actually play as low as 40-35hz but I don't know how I can be for sure.

Overall, I'd get these subs if your looking for more sound quality and not loudness with your lows in a car system. They sound amazing for price and I think I made a good choice on what subwoofers to own for quite a while, even my friends are impressed with my system now saying "it sounds so clean, how is that possible".
