| theirishfox24's Full Review: Infinity PRIMUS 250 Main / Stereo Speaker |
When I had outgrown my Yamaha surround sound set, I needed a set of powerful speakers without depleting all my assets. As with any high end electronic merchandise, I looked at Crutchfields.com. Narrowing down my choices between the Infinities and a Polk Audio set (both quality), I grabbed Dark Side of the Moon and made the trek to Charlottesville, VA to listen to the speakers myself (something that should definitely be done before buying any speakers). To my ears, the Infinities sounded better, and it was awesome when just about the whole store came in while I cranked up Time and Money.
So, without boring the reading with the physical specks of these speakers, in my opinion you cant get much better than Infinity. Polk is right up there, but the Infinity pair just sounded better to my ears. The highs and the lows were perfect, and with two towers like these you really do not need a subwoofer. I also added the center channel speaker (Primus 250) and then I got the bookshelf speakers for free due to a promotion at Crutchfields (Primus 150). The bookshelves have great sound by themselves, but combined with the towers and the center channel, it creates a theatre quality surround sound system.
But I digress. For these towers, I couldnt find a better bang for my buck. Do a test listen yourself, I guarantee you wont be disappointed.
