This program came as a free trial with a RAM chip from PNY. Try it for 30 days, if you like it, pay a small fee and its yours. So I figured what have I got to lose? Well, just all the data on my PC...THATS what. There's no such thing as a free lunch and this software is proof. Mind you, I have had my computer for 2 years and never had one single problem with it...that is until I installed this nightmare of a product. First I did the registry cleaner. I noticed absolutely no difference whatsoever in performance. The software claims it can speed up your internet connections. I'm not sure in what universe or on what system, but on my computer it pretty much slowed my network connections down. Normally I could connect to the internet in about 10-15 seconds. After the "enhancement", it would take about a minute to dial up and get connected. Then the clincher; I ran the "clean old files" utility. Well, it cleaned up files alright...including some apparently important system files. I could not reboot the computer to anything but a black screen. No command prompt, nothing. So...I decide to place a call to their "tech-support" department (I dont know how big a department it really is...I kept getting the same useless Steve everytime I called). Anyway, I call to tell them the problem, and before I could even finish my sentence, he goes "so what kind of Hewlett Packard computer do you have?" And then he proceeded to tell me ALL of the resulting symptoms I experienced before I could even finish. It turns out that there is a KNOWN issue with this software and HP computers running Windows XP (Geez, that's only what, about HALF the comptuers sold in the US????). It erroneously erases some "invalid font" files and other important system files that pretty much turn your computer into a braindead pile of plastic and metal. There is NO mention or disclaimter of this on their website, in their documentation (online or otherwise), or else I wouldnt have installed this trash. I couldnt even get into my recovery partition to do a non-destructive restore. My several calls to tech support (i.e. Steve) produced no results. His recommendation was that I go online to download a DOS program to transger files to my second hard drive. Two problems! One XP doesnt use DOS...second; My computer wasnt working, how can I go online? His response to that was "oh...oh yeah I forgot." I ended up having to destructively restore my system from my recovery CD's to get it running, as it is essential to my work. I placed several calls to various people at that company and not once did I get a response via email, phone, or otherwise...not even so much as an apology or any sort of acceptance of responsiblity for them causing me inconvenience due to a KNOWN problem with this software and HP computers. I have since filed complaints with just about every agency I can; as they are NOT going to get away with this without giving me some sort of compensation for my loss. If YOU want to take a chance on finding out whether your computer is compatible woth this software, fine...its your time and money you'll waste. I dont see why anyone in their right mind would purchase software from a company that is incompatible with one of the top selling computers and OS's in the world; and who apparently doesnt give a darn about their customers. I would avoid this rubbish like the plague. Get a more reliable program like Systemworks. I wouldnt wish this software on my worst enemy. It's alot like cigarettes; when this software is used properly it will kill you.
