Pros: Excellent sound and quality throughout.
Cons: Subwoofer is not powered like the original Cinema Propack model.
The Bottom Line: If you're on a budget but are still a home theater buff, you just can't beat the quality and value of the Cinema Pro Pack II by JBL.

| kosti's Full Review: JBL ProPack 600II Speaker |
I bought my JBL Cinema Pro Pack II from Harman Audio on e-bay. I paid $450 shipped for a factory refurbished unit, although everything appeared brand spanking new to me. I was immediately impressed by the sleek look of the components and speakers upon opening the box. The real test came after all was hooked up. WOW, this system has incredible sound, and although I'm no Audiophile, I would say that the sound reproduced by this system is among the best for any home theater package. The bass is earthshaking, I mean my entire living room vibrates when a bassy track plays. The mids and highs are crisp and audible even at high volume, with no indication of distortion. The DVD player is a 5-disc carousel that plays DVD, VCD, MP3, Audio CD, and many other formats (the manual states that DVD-R's will not play, but mine did). If you look closely at the receiver and DVD player (as far as LCD displays, and button placement) you can compare them in appearance to similar Harman Kardon models (Harman Audio is the parent company of JBL). I even noticed a "THX" LED on the receiver's display which obviously will not light up on this model but probably does on Harman's higher end THX certified receivers. I can't find much wrong with this system except that it would have been nice if the sub was powered. I've had mine for about 3 months and considering what I paid I don't know why I waited so long to pick one of these up. I am extremely happy with this purchase. I also own an older JBL home theater system (ESC200) which has become outdated since the advent of Dolby digital and DTS, therefore I was sort of biased towards JBL. Sometimes being biased is not such a bad thing.
