| soupcraze's Full Review: JBL TI6KBE Speaker |
The JBL TI6KBE is a speaker that mixes sexy original looks with the best JBL sound that you can get... And wow, that really mixes well! The JBL TI6KBE are some of their most expensive speakers. The TiK series simply has some of the best looking speakers that I've ever seen. There are three main brands that I've seen including JBL with their TiK series that really have an importance for the styling and appearance of their speakers, the other two include B&W and Bang and Olufsen (B&O). JBL and B&W have great sounding premium speakers, B&W being the most expensive of the two. On average, B&O is the most expensive but makes some of the crappiest speakers ever, but let's check out the JBL TI6KBE speakers:
Price:
$2,500, that's a lot of money! In this price range, you will find many brands with superb speakers that will be fighting to be the best. JBL definitely gives you a lot of sound for the money. It's a very efficient 3-Way design, but also it has its classy looks. The JBL TI6KBE isn't just a speaker, it's a work of art. So are the B&W Nautilus speakers, and Bang and Olufsen speakers. However, when you call speakers art, they still do have to sound good. Well, it looks like B&O is out of the running. Their speakers are terrible quality regarding sound, and I don't think that the speakers in their product line sound as good as the JBL TiK series speakers. B&W does have better sounding speakers, but they either cost more (Nautilus 801), or they don't have the looks like the TiK has. Still, when you're buying the JBL TI6KBE, you have to remember that you're also paying for the looks. However, for the $2,500 that you pay, you still get audiophile sound. If you want a speaker that will truly stand above the rest in sound and styling, then these puppies are for you!
Durability:
These are what you'd expect from JBL. Solid powerful speakers. The drivers are made up of high quality materials, so these speakers will last. They can handle from 10 to 300 Watts! 300 Watts is a lot of power, these aren't easy to blow at all!
Looks and Styling:
When I first saw the TiK series speakers, I simply couldn't believe my eyes. They were just so... Beautiful. Not even Bang and Olufsen can match the styling of the TiK series speakers. The JBL TI6KBE are quite tall, and have a very beautiful wood finish. THey also have curves that will make your eyes wander. Once you've got your eyes on the sexy lines of the JBL TI6KBE speakers, it's hard to get them off!
Sound:
The sound that comes from the JBL TI6KBE speakers is just like a fantasy. Smooth and powerful at the same time. I heard these speaker's at a family friend's house. I've only been to the house once, but I really want to go there again just to hear these! They were running off Rotel components, and they sounded amazing! The tweeter that powers the system is a 1" pure titanium dome. Titanium tweeters are among the highest quality tweeters in acoustics. The highs that these speakers gave were great, I was able to clearly hear the plucks on guitar strings and the clashes of symbols while listening to classical music. Then comes the midrange, it was spectacular. The midrange driver on the JBL TI6KBE is a pure titanium 4" woofer. The midranges handle 80% of the sound, and this one is very clear, and the vocals and instrumentals were very sharp and clear! Then for the lower midrange and for the bass, there are dual 6.5" polypropylene woofers. They give out decent amounts of bass. They aren't too boomy, they sound very smooth. Overall, these speakers sound great, and they sounded amazing while playing classical music, classic rock, and then heavy metal. They sound great with every type of music!
Bass:
The bass on these speakers is very smooth and clear. I would recommend using a powered subwoofer with any kind of speakers, but these will create enough for most listeners. The bass isn't boomy or distorted, instead it is fine and delicate.
The Verdict:
The JBL TI6KBE are superb speakers. They incorporate both the best of JBL's sound, and the best of their styling capablilites. Once these speakers have you, they got you! If you want some audiophile speakers that will not only sound great, but capture the eye of anyone who looks at them, then buy the JBL TI6KBE TiK series speakers!
